The Royal Mint has today (10th June 2019) expanded its Valiant collection with the release of the 2019 Silver Valiant one-ounce bullion coin, providing investors with even more cost-effective and convenient options with which to build their portfolios.
First launched in 2018 with a ten-ounce silver coin, the beautiful Valiant series will now provide investors with the opportunity to invest in the one-ounce silver coin for the first time.
The Silver Valiant series is inspired by the legend of St George and the dragon, which features all the key elements of a mythical fairy-tale. It is a story driven by the underlying messages of duty, bravery and courage. The Royal Mint has reinvented this traditional tale for the modern era and the overseas investment market. A refreshed version of Artist Etienne Millner’s original, energetic interpretation of England’s patron saint features prominently on the one-ounce reverse while the incuse obverse features Royal Mint coin designer Jody Clark’s portrait of Her Majesty The Queen.
The coin is minted in 999.9 Ag fine silver to bullion standard. Exempt from Capital Gains Tax, the bullion can be stored securely at The Royal Mint Vault if chosen by individual investors. Possessing full legal ownership of the coin, investors can choose to liquidate their holding at any given time, making it a cost-effective and convenient investment option.
Chris Howard, Director of Precious Metals for The Royal Mint said: “We’re really pleased to extend a refreshed version of the popular Valiant design onto a one-ounce silver coin for the first time, and to offer investors with even more opportunities to further develop their portfolios.
“Precious metals are known for their ability to safeguard investments against market volatility. During these politically turbulent and economically volatile times, particularly with Brexit developments and ongoing global trade wars, it is reassuring for investors to know that they have a range of options available to them.”
Production of the 2019 Silver Valiant one-ounce is limited to a run of 100,000 coins, click here for more information.
