Anne Jessopp, CEO of The Royal Mint said: “As we celebrate International Women’s Day this week, we are delighted to report that the amount of women investing in precious metals here at The Royal Mint has more than doubled since the start of 2015 compared to data from the end of 2018 (108% increase). This growth means that women now represent 20% of The Royal Mint’s precious metal customer base, compared to just 12% at the start of 2015.
“Precious metals are renowned for their ability to act as a safe haven asset and provide investors with the opportunity to safeguard their investments against market volatility. A notion which is particularly pertinent during these turbulent times of Brexit confusion and ongoing global trade wars.
“Whilst the numbers still have some way to go, it is encouraging to see this growth, suggesting that more and more women are recognising the benefits of investing in precious metals and the different options available to them as they look for ways to diversify and safeguard their portfolios.”
